BOLOGNESE (-ISH) SAUCE RECIPE

COOK TIME: 40-45 minutes
OVERALL TIME: 50-55 minutes

INGREDIENTS
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 2 carrots, peeled and chopped
- 1/2 yellow onion, diced
- 1- 1 1/3 pounds ground beef
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup white cooking wine
- 1/2 cup chicken or beef broth or bone broth
- 12 oz. marinara sauce
- 1 cup milk or 1/2 & 1/2
- 1 pound pasta of your choice
- Optional: grated Parmesan cheese, if desired
INSTRUCTIONS
- Heat oil in a large pot or deep skillet over medium-high heat. Add carrots and cook for about 3-5 minutes.
- Add the celery and onion. Cook until all vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the beef, breaking it with a wooden spoon into little bits. Cook until browned.
- Add salt.
- Pour in white cooking wine and cook until wine is evaporated.
- Add broth and cook until evaporated as well.
- Pour in marinara sauce.
- Let the sauce simmer
- When sauce has reached your desired thickness, stir in the milk.
- After adding the milk, boil some water for the pasta.
- Cook pasta according to the package instructions.
- When pasta is cooked, drain, then add to the bolognese sauce.
- Mix sauce and pasta thoroughly.
- Divide between bowls and garnish with parmesan cheese if desired.
